Does any of this sound Familiar?

  • EASILY DISTRACTED
They’re focusing on the wrong things. It’s especially frustrating when budgets are tight, priorities shift, and client expectations are high.
  • MISSED DEADLINES
It takes too long to get things done. Projects are delayed or tasks forgotten. They need multiple reminders or revisions. It feels easier at times to do it yourself.
  • RECURRING ISSUES
You hope they’ll pick up on your hints and figure it out themselves. In the meantime, you look for a magic solution, trying new systems and the latest tools.
  • NO DAYS OFF
You’re OOO, but still check your phone to respond to clients and vendors. You find yourself working late and on the weekends to keep up.

Proven Practices for results

Nurture Relationships

Make time to know your team, their interests, goals, and strengths. When team members feel appreciated and valued they show up better. If they’re an afterthought, it will show up in their engagement. Low engagement delivers mediocre performance.

“When employee engagement is high, there is 81% less absenteeism, errors down 41%, productivity up 18%, and profits up 23%.”

Clear Expectations

Define the direction of the business. Next, define success and how progress is measured. Then define how each role on the team contributes to moving the business forward. Finally, define what success looks like in each role and how progress is measured.

“Across all generations, the percentage of workers who know what is expected of them at work has declined by 4+ points since 03/2020.”

Practice Accountability

Do what you say you’ll do. If you have a habit of overcommitting, pause before answering to see if it aligns with the business direction. Hold your team accountable to performance and service standards. The brand and everyone’s reputation depend on it.

“Did you know only 19% of employees report having customer-oriented goals?”

Meet your coach

Hi, my name is Melissa

You might be wondering what qualifies me to be a leadership coach? I’d ask the same thing too. My leadership journey started in high school, continued into corporate and non-profit, and finally took me to small business. Small business is my passion as the daughter and granddaughter of entrepreneurs.

  • I’ve served teams of various sizes. I’ve started with employee #1 and built up from there. I’ve stepped up to serve a team of 60 customer service reps.
  • I’ve taken on management roles through internal promotions and external hiring. It’s a bigger challenge to transition into managing your peers than a new team. Respect and boundaries are key.
  • I’ve worked in multiple industries: property management, retail, new home construction, event planning, non-profits, and health insurance. This reinforces my belief that character, communication, relationships, and work ethic are foundational to success. Technical skills evolve with the times and can be learned.
  • I believe your team’s success reflects your leadership. I’ve had former team members be promoted and/or move into management roles. I serve enthusiastically as a reference and mentor.
  • I believe people are capable of great things. I have high expectations because it only takes one person to see someone’s talent, believe in them, and push.

Coaching is for you if:

  • You’re ready to invest time upfront to lay the groundwork.
  • You’re willing to let go of beliefs and habits holding you back.
  • You’re ready to develop the potential of your team.
  • You ask for feedback and input from those around you.
  • You value relationships.
  • You’re committed to showing up each week prepared.

Coaching is NOT for you if:

  • You’re too busy to take care of the fundamentals.
  • You seek comfort and avoid conflict.
  • You feel threatened by a team member’s success.
  • You prioritize impressing peers over serving your team.
  • You avoid people, conversations, and meetings.
  • You deflect responsibility and ownership.
Are you ready to reclaim your power?

You can keep doing what you’re doing. Or decide you’ve had enough and you want to make a change. You want your power back to lead better. You’re ready to do the hard work for you.

If you choose monthly payments, you are invoiced monthly. Payments are due in full in advance. The first payment is due at the signing of the contract.
Each recurring payment is due on the 1st of each month.

If you choose to pay in quarterly, you are invoiced at time of contract. At the end of 90-days, you may choose monthly or quarterly invoicing. Payments are due in full in advance.

Rates are per person. Team pricing is custom.

The initial time commitment is for 90 days. A 90-day starting period allows time to start building trust and traction. We’re focused on relationship behavior instead of transactional behavior.

Coaching calls occur on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

After 90 days, the term will be extended quarterly and remain in effect indefinitely until terminated as provided in the contract.

Yes. I love meeting you and your team. Most recently I traveled to Colorado, Florida, Georgia, and Illinois.

Travel expenses are approved in advance and paid for by the client.

Coaching is regular structured 1:1 conversations centered on soft skills. The relationship is longer because change and results don’t happen overnight.

Consulting is project-oriented and centered on solving specific problems through expertise. The relationship tends to be shorter.

Mentoring is informal and centered on transferring knowledge over time.

You have a leadership role in a service-based small business.

You enjoy working with people. You understand the importance of communication.

You are great at your craft. You value excellence. You take ownership of outcomes.

Your team is more than a means to an end; instead, they’re an opportunity to nurture talent and extend impact in the industry.

While working together, we will use email, Notion, and Zoom. I’m a Notion affiliate.

I’m familiar with: Acuity, Airtable, Asana, Basecamp, Calendly, ClickUp, ConvertKit, Dropbox, Dubsado, Google Suite, HelloSign, Mailchimp, Microsoft Office, Shopify, Squarespace, SurveyMonkey, Tally, Toggl, Trello, WordPress.

If you have industry-specific software, I’m a quick independent learner.

No. Your business services and needs determine what works best.

Regardless of the setting, I support leadership by ensuring team members have the relationships and resources they need to excel.

No problem! Through collaboration and team feedback, we look at the big picture to set the whole team up for long-term success.
